The Waterfront Beach Resort Huntington Beach / Wedding Photography / Katherine + Ivan

One lovely October day, we had the privilege of photographing Katherine & Ivan's spectacular wedding at the beautiful Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach. Here's a little background on how these two met: Katherine and Ivan met at work in 2006 (ten years ago!) at Care Ambulance where she was an EMT and Ivan was her dispatcher, giving her the 9-1-1 calls over the radio with his mysterious and intriguing voice. They were casual Facebook friends shortly after that. However, they didn't officially meet until October 19th of 2013. Katherine has always joked around that it took Ivan 7 years to ask her out. The truth is they were at different points in their lives in 2006 so it wouldn't have worked out if they started dating back then. Therefore timing is everything!

Seven years later, it was hard to keep the two social butterflies apart. Katherine became a Physician Assistant working in Huntington Beach, where Ivan and Katherine met for their first official date. Similar interests in UFC and the medical field brought them together, and late night talks while Ivan was on shift grew their relationship. Together, they have similar interests such as in music and outdoor concerts. They love spending time with Madelyn (Ivan's daughter / Katherine's stepdaughter), and also with family and friends. Other favorite activities include snowboarding, traveling, swimming, snorkeling, scuba-diving, cooking, dining out, and any other new adventures. Katherine loves that Ivan is very easy-going and kind and that he treats her with respect and honors her decisions. Ivan loves Katherine for being a kind-hearted, intelligent, dedicated, hard-working and competitive person.

After being together for so many wonderful years, one of Katherine and Ivan's biggest joys was the birth of their beautiful daughter Kaila. She was born on St. Patty's Day, March 17th, 2015. They had planned for Kaila and loved her before she was even born. Kaila was so beautiful and loud, and brought them so much joy! She is a big part of who they are and has made them stronger as a couple and as parents. Sadly, Kaila passed away suddenly to SIDS on August 20th, 2015. She's at peace and now forever in her parents' hearts and will never be forgotten. After a difficult year in 2015, Katherine and Ivan bought a house in Fullerton where Ivan proposed in front of his best man Sam, Katherine's cousin Jen, and her parents the night they received the keys to their home. With a beautiful ring and without hesitation, Katherine proudly said "YES!" And the rest, as they say, is history.

Although Katherine and Ivan are two very different individuals, the trials and challenges that have been placed in their path not only made them learn a lot about each other but have also built and strengthened their relationship. They envision raising a loving family together, making many fond memories, and growing old together. They can't imagine their lives without each other! Katherine & Ivan's unique love story touched all our hearts, their strength, and their positivity outlook on life is such a powerful inspiration. If anyone deserves a happily ever after, it is these two beautiful souls! CONGRATULATIONS Katherine & Ivan!!! Thank you for sharing your deepest thoughts, emotions, and stories with us and the world. We wish you both a lifetime of love and happiness. Wayfarers Chapel Rancho Palos Verdes / Wedding Photographer / Lisa + Dan

On a lovely October day, I had the privilege of photographing Lisa and Dan's intimate wedding at the beautiful Wayfarers Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes. Here's a little background on how these two met: Dan was on leave from his Army base in Cyprus, and Lisa was based near his home town with the Royal Air Force. They met at a gathering with mutual friends, they hit it off right away, and the rest was history. Together they enjoyed going to the movies, eating out, traveling, and overall they love the company of each other.

What Dan see in Lisa is a kind individual, sweet, a loving person. She makes him want to be a better man in every ways and if the baby they are expecting is anything like Lisa, Dan will be a very happy man! Lisa truly admired Dan, he is intelligent and she learned something from him every day... not to mention that they laugh so much together. Now that Lisa and Dan are married, they are looking forward to living in the same place and going new adventures together. Another exciting news that Lisa and Dan would like to share to the world is that they are expecting their first baby in March 2017. Double CONGRATULATIONS Lisa and Dan!!! We wish you both a lifetime of love and happiness. Thank you for allowing me to capture your special and memorable day. Please enjoy some great photos through the Janice Owen Photography experience. Cheers!

The Villa Westminster / Wedding Photographer / Alice + Randy

On a beautiful warm sunny day in Costa Mesa, I had the pleasure and honor of assisting my good friend and mentor Carissa Woo as her second photographer. The lovely married couple is Alice and Randy. They’ve been together since high school, for over 15 years! We started out at the Ayres Hotel in Manhattan Beach and ended up at The Villa in Westminster. We even took some photos at the Segerstrom Center For The Arts. There were a lot of pretty pink pastels, which went nicely with the groomsmen’s grey outfits. It was a beautiful wedding with the couple's families and friends. Overall, this gorgeous wedding was bursting with colors, fun, and especially lots of love. Congrats to the lovely couple Alice and Randy! Please enjoy some great photos through the Janice Owen Photography lens. Thank you.
